    Paxillin Interface Private Limited ("we," "us," or "our"), a company incorporated under the laws of India, operates the Paxillin application and website at www.paxillin.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy applies to phase 1 of our Service, which is limited to healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, researchers, scientists, nurses, paramedics, technicians, physician assistants, staff, etc.) for professional networking and collaboration in India.

    This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and other applicable Indian laws. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

    1. Interpretation and Definitions

    Interpretation: Words with capitalized first letters have meanings defined below, applicable in singular or plural form.

    Definitions:

    • Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual, such as name, email address, phone number, professional credentials, licenses, employment history, affiliations, or location data.
    • Usage Data: Information collected automatically, such as IP address, device type, browser details, app interaction logs, and engagement analytics.
    • Service Provider: Third parties processing data on our behalf, such as analytics tools or cloud storage providers.
    • User or You: Any healthcare professional accessing the Service.
    • Data Fiduciary: Us, as the entity determining the purpose and means of processing Personal Data under the DPDPA.

    2. Types of Information We Collect

    Personal Data:

    • Contact information: Name, email address, phone number, city.
    • Professional details: Credentials, licenses, employment history, specialties, workplace, verification documents (e.g., professional IDs, certificates).
    • Location data: For event matching or localized networking.
    • Optional User-Provided data: Age, gender, profile photo and biography.

    Usage Data:

    • Device and interaction data: IP address, device ID, app usage patterns, pages visited, content liked, viewed or saved, time spent, engagement analytics (e.g., connection patterns).
    • Publicly available information: From professional registries for verification.
    • User-Generated Content: Content created by you, such as posts and comments, which contributes to the community's knowledge base. This also includes your data (queries, documents, files) submitted on our platform and services.

    Sensitive Data: We do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health data) as defined under the DPDPA, as the Service excludes patient consultations. Users are expected to uphold their professional and ethical duty to protect patient confidentiality. Sharing any sensitive or identifiable patient information is strictly prohibited. All case reports or clinical content posted on the platform or used with our future AI tools must be completely and irrevocably anonymized.

    3. How We Collect Your Information

    • Directly from You: During registration, profile creation, posting content, creating communities/events, messaging/calling users, or submitting verification documents.
    • Automatically: Via cookies, logs, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) when using features like networking or sharing posts/profiles/events internally or externally (e.g., via WhatsApp, email).
    • From Third Parties: Verification sources or affiliates for profile enhancement.
    • Pre-Launch Data: If you provided data during alpha/beta testing.

    4. Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies

    We use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, personalization (e.g., suggested connections), and analytics. Types include session and persistent cookies. Manage preferences via device settings; disabling may affect usability.

    5. How We Use Your Information

    We process Personal Data based on your free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous consent (obtained via in-app prompts, e.g., checkboxes during registration) or legitimate uses (e.g., verification), for:

    • Providing and improving the Service: Enabling profiles, posts, communities, events, messaging, calls, and networking.
    • Personalization and Analytics: Using interaction data for engagement insights and tailored recommendations (future AI use possible).
    • Communications: Sending updates, notifications, or support.

    • Legitimate Interest: For purposes such as platform security, debugging, service improvement, and fraud prevention, provided these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights.
    • Contractual Necessity: The processing of your personal data is required to deliver our core services and to perform our obligations under the Terms of Service entered into with you.

    When an account is deleted, we remove all related personal data from our primary systems. In the event of any data breach, Paxillin shall notify the relevant authorities and affected users in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

    Your personal data will be processed and stored in India. By using our service, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing.

    Under the DPDPA, you have the right to:

    The Service is for professionals aged 18+ and does not collect children's data. If detected, such data is deleted.
